Two Gigabyte boards for AMD's sTR5 socket are here, the TRX50 AI TOP and the TRX50 AERO D. Both are E-ATX workstation boards with DDR5 memory, four M.2 slots and built-in Wi-Fi.
The AI TOP has eight memory slots for up to 2 TB of RAM and four SATA ports. The AERO D has four memory slots for up to 1 TB and eight SATA ports. Choose the AI TOP for very large memory loads such as AI work or big simulations, and the AERO D for builds that need many SATA drives.
Frequently asked questions
Which processors fit a TRX50 board? AMD Ryzen Threadripper and Threadripper PRO processors made for the sTR5 socket. AM5 Ryzen desktop processors do not fit.
Can ordinary desktop DDR5 be used? No. Threadripper on TRX50 takes registered DDR5 (RDIMM) modules, not standard desktop DDR5 sticks.
