The 64 GB RAM kits here are all G.Skill DDR5 desktop kits of two 32GB modules. They cover four ranges: the Trident Z5 RGB (black and white), the Trident Z5 Neo RGB, the plain Ripjaws S5 and the Flare X5. Most run at 6000MHz with timings of CL30 or CL36. One Ripjaws S5 kit runs at 6400MHz CL32, and one Trident Z5 RGB kit at 6800MHz CL34. G.Skill covers every kit with a 10 year warranty.
Start with the platform. These are DDR5 kits, so they need a DDR5 motherboard and will not fit a DDR4 board. On AMD AM5 builds, pick an AMD EXPO kit such as the Trident Z5 Neo or Flare X5. On Intel, pick an XMP kit such as the Trident Z5 RGB or Ripjaws S5. The CL36 Trident Z5 RGB and Ripjaws S5 kits carry both profiles. At the same 6000MHz, CL30 kits have lower latency than CL36 kits. The Ripjaws S5 and Flare X5 have no RGB and low heatspreaders, which helps clearance under large air coolers. The 6000 MHz and 6400 MHz kits each have their own page.
Frequently asked questions
Is 64 GB RAM worth it over 32 GB? It suits video editing, 3D rendering, virtual machines and heavy multitasking. For gaming alone, 32 GB is usually enough.
Will an XMP-only kit work on an AMD board? It will run, but it may need manual tuning to reach its rated speed. An EXPO kit is the simpler choice for AM5.
Can these kits go in a laptop? No. They are full-size desktop DIMMs, not SO-DIMMs.
