Intel H510 Series Motherboards

The H510 boards here are the MSI PRO H510M-B II, MSI H510M PLUS II, Gigabyte H510M H V2 and Gigabyte H510M K V2. All four are Micro-ATX boards on the LGA1200 socket. Each has two DDR4 slots for up to 64 GB, one M.2 slot and no built-in Wi-Fi. The Gigabyte H510M K V2 has two SATA ports, while the other three have four. MSI covers the PRO H510M-B II with a 3 year warranty.

Start with the processor. H510 takes LGA1200 Intel Core chips from the Comet Lake and Rocket Lake families, plus LGA1200 Pentium and Celeron models. It cannot overclock, so a K-series chip runs only at stock speeds. F-series chips have no integrated graphics, so they need a separate graphics card. Storage is the main difference among these boards. Pick a four-SATA model for more than two hard drives, SATA SSDs or an optical drive. Wireless networking needs a USB or PCIe Wi-Fi adapter.
