8 GB RAM
Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR5 5200MHz CL40 1.25V Intel XMP RAM
G.Skill Ripjaws V 8GB DDR4 3200MHz CL16-18-18-38 1.35V Intel XMP RAM
The 8 GB desktop memory modules here cover both current memory types. On the DDR4 side are the G.Skill Aegis F4-3200C16S-8GIS and the G.Skill Ripjaws V F4-3200C16S-8GVKB, both 3200MHz at CL16-18-18-38 and 1.35V. For DDR5 there is the Corsair Vengeance CMK8GX5M1B5200C40, rated at 5200MHz CL40 at 1.25V. All three are single sticks with Intel XMP profiles and no RGB. G.Skill and Corsair each cover their modules with a 10 year warranty.
Your motherboard decides the choice. DDR4 and DDR5 slots are keyed differently, so a DDR4 board takes only the G.Skill sticks and a DDR5 board only the Corsair. The two G.Skill modules share the same speed and timings. The 3200 MHz DDR4 sticks also have their own filtered page. A single 8 GB stick runs in single channel. Two identical sticks give 16 GB in dual channel, which helps games and integrated graphics. Enable XMP in the BIOS to run the rated speed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the Corsair DDR5 stick in a DDR4 motherboard? No. DDR5 and DDR4 are not interchangeable and will not fit each other's slots.
Is 8 GB enough for gaming? It handles light use and older games. For current games, two 8 GB sticks for 16 GB in dual channel is the more practical setup.
Are these modules for laptops? No. They are full-size desktop DIMMs and do not fit laptop SO-DIMM slots.
