MSI GeForce GT 710 2GD3H LP Graphics Card
The MSI GeForce 700 Series cards here are entry-level display cards built around two NVIDIA chips. The MSI GeForce GT 710 2GD3H LP carries 2GB DDR3 memory, a passive heatsink with no fan, a 19 W TDP and a slim 19 mm low-profile design. The MSI GeForce GT 730 4GD3V2 (N730-4GD3V2) steps up to 4GB DDR3 with single-fan cooling, a 49 W TDP and a 145 mm length. Both have HDMI, DVI and VGA (D-Sub) outputs, use PCI Express Gen 2, and MSI suggests a 300 W power supply. MSI covers them with a 3 year warranty.
These cards suit office desktops, billing counters, CCTV and home-theatre PCs, adding a second monitor, or replacing a failed onboard display output. They are not meant for modern gaming or heavy video editing. The silent, slim GT 710 fits small and low-profile cases. The GT 730 has more memory and more graphics power for light multitasking and older or basic games. Each chip also has its own page: GT 710 and GT 730.
Frequently asked questions
Will these cards work in a newer PCIe 3.0 or 4.0 slot? Yes. PCIe is backward compatible, so these Gen 2 cards work in any PCIe x16 slot on current motherboards.
Do the GT 710 and GT 730 need an extra power cable? No. At 19 W and 49 W they draw power from the slot, and a 300 W supply is enough.
Can I connect an old VGA monitor? Yes. Both cards include a VGA (D-Sub) port alongside HDMI and DVI.
