WD Desktop Hard Drives

The WD desktop drives here are two 3.5 inch SATA models from the WD Blue line. The WD Blue 2TB (WD20EZBX) spins at 7200 RPM, and the WD Blue 4TB (WD40EZAX) spins at 5400 RPM. Both have a 256MB cache and low power draw, and WD covers both with a 2 year warranty.

Pick the 2TB WD20EZBX for game libraries and active project files, where its 7200 RPM speed shortens load and copy times. Pick the 4TB WD40EZAX for backups, media and archives, where capacity matters more than speed. The 2TB model also has its own page under 2 TB HDD.

Frequently asked questions

Will these fit a laptop? No. They are 3.5 inch drives that need a desktop drive bay, a SATA data port and SATA power.

Can either drive be used as a boot drive? Yes, but an SSD boots much faster. These drives suit bulk storage alongside an SSD.
