The desktop DDR5 RAM here comes from G.Skill and Corsair. It runs from the single 8GB Corsair Vengeance 5200MHz stick to 128GB (2x64GB) G.Skill Ripjaws S5 and Flare X5 kits at 6000MHz. In between are Trident Z5 RGB and Trident Z5 Neo RGB kits in 32GB and 64GB, the Ripjaws S5 64GB 6400MHz kit and the Trident Z5 CK RGB 48GB kit at 8200MHz. Both brands cover their DDR5 with a 10 year warranty.
Match the memory profile to your platform first. Flare X5 and Trident Z5 Neo kits carry AMD EXPO for Ryzen on AM5, where 6000MHz CL30 or CL28 kits are a common choice. Kits marked Intel XMP, such as the Trident Z5 RGB 6800MHz and 7200MHz, are tuned for Intel boards. Many Ripjaws S5 and Trident Z5 RGB kits list both profiles. For gaming, 32GB (2x16GB) is enough. The 64GB and 128GB kits suit video editing, rendering and virtual machines. A matched two-stick kit is safer for dual channel than two single sticks. The G.Skill DDR5 models also have their own page.
Frequently asked questions
Will DDR5 RAM fit a DDR4 motherboard? No. DDR5 modules have a different notch and work only in DDR5 slots.
Can an AMD EXPO kit be used on an Intel system? It usually runs at standard speed, but the rated profile may not apply. Pick a kit listing Intel XMP or both profiles for Intel builds.
How do 6000MHz CL30 and CL36 kits differ? At the same speed, CL30 has lower latency and responds slightly faster. The difference is small in everyday use.
