Overview

The Gigabyte X670 AORUS ELITE AX is an ATX motherboard built on the AMD X670 chipset with the AM5 socket. It supports AMD Ryzen 7000, Ryzen 8000 and Ryzen 9000 Series processors.

Power comes from a Twin 16+2+2 phase Digital VRM design with 70A smart power stages, a 2X copper PCB and 8+8 pin CPU power connectors. It has four DDR5 DIMM slots with AMD EXPO and Intel XMP support, with memory overclocking up to 8000 MT/s and beyond. Cooling uses fully covered MOSFET heatsinks, an 8mm Mega-Heatpipe, a 7 W/mK thermal pad and M.2 Thermal Guard, along with Smart Fan 6 fan control.

Storage includes one PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 connector and three PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 connectors, plus four SATA 6Gb/s ports. Networking is Wi-Fi 6E 802.11ax with an AORUS antenna and 2.5GbE LAN, and rear and front USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 Type-C ports are provided.

DIY-friendly features include PCIe EZ-Latch, M.2 EZ-Latch Plus and Q-Flash Plus, which updates the BIOS without a CPU, memory or graphics card installed.
