Overview

The Gigabyte X870E AORUS ELITE X3D is an ATX motherboard built on the AMD X870E chipset with the AM5 socket. It supports AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series processors and offers X3D Turbo Mode 2.0, which uses AI to tune X3D processor performance.

Power comes from a 16+2+2 phase Twin Digital VRM design (16 VCORE phases at 80A SPS, 2 SOC phases at 80A SPS and 2 MISC phases at 60A DrMOS) on an 8-layer server-grade PCB with 2X copper. The board has 4 DDR5 DIMM slots supporting dual channel memory with AMD EXPO and XMP profiles, with DDR5 overclocking up to 9000 MT/s.

Cooling includes VRM Thermal Armor Advanced with a direct-touch heatpipe and 7 W/mK thermal pads, M.2 Thermal Guard L, M.2 Thermal Guard Ext., M.2 EZ-Flex and a PCB Thermal Plate. Storage is handled by four M.2 slots (two PCIe 5.0 and two PCIe 4.0) and four SATA 6Gb/s connectors.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 with a directional ultra-high gain antenna, 5GbE LAN, dual USB4 Type-C ports at up to 40Gb/s with DP-Alt, HDMI and a front QC-USB 65W port. DIY-friendly features include WIFI EZ-Plug, M.2 EZ-Latch Click and Plus, PCIe EZ-Latch Plus, M.2 EZ-Match, debug LEDs, Rear EZ-button and Q-Flash Plus.
